The overnight desert safari Dubai is an extension of our evening desert safari — and then some. You get the full 6-hour evening programme: sunset dune bashing across the Al Faaqr red dunes, a camel ride, belly dance and Tanoura show, henna painting, shisha, and an unlimited BBQ dinner at the Bedouin camp.
Then, as the other guests leave and the camp goes quiet, you stay. The camp lights dim. The desert sounds take over — shifting sands, distant wildlife, silence deeper than anything you’ll experience in Dubai city. And above you, the desert night sky: no light pollution, no city glow, just an extraordinary canopy of stars.
Sleeping bags and blankets are provided. There are toilet facilities at the camp. In the early morning, as the air turns cool and the horizon starts to glow, you’ll wake to the most spectacular sunrise photography Dubai has to offer. Breakfast is served at camp — tea, coffee, eggs and toast — before the 8:30 AM return to your hotel.

A 45–60 minute drive brings you to the Al Faaqr desert on the Al Ain Road. Tyre pressure is reduced at the gate for soft sand driving. The iconic red dunes rise to 250 metres here.

Your licensed driver takes you across the red dunes — climbing steep crests and carving through the sand. The convoy pauses for a dedicated sunset photo stop as the sky turns amber to crimson. Seatbelts mandatory.

What to Pack
👕 Light clothing for the evening + warm base layer for sleeping. October–April nights are genuinely cold.

The camp is a traditional Bedouin-style desert camp — comfortable but rustic. Sleeping bags and blankets are provided. There are toilet facilities at the camp. There is no power supply, so charge all devices before you leave your hotel. There is no running water for showers. Pack basic toiletries and a small torch. The experience is authentic desert camping, not a glamping resort.
How cold does the desert get at night?
October to April desert nights in Dubai typically drop to 10–18°C — colder than most visitors expect. Sleeping bags and blankets are provided, but a warm base layer (long-sleeved top, light fleece) is strongly recommended. May to September nights stay warm at 25–32°C and sleeping bags are largely unnecessary, though the daytime heat makes summer overnight safaris less comfortable overall.
What time does the overnight safari start and end?
Hotel pickup is between 3:15 PM and 4:00 PM depending on your location. The camp programme runs from approximately 4:30 PM through the night. Breakfast is served from around 7:00 AM and the convoy departs the camp at 8:30 AM, arriving back at your hotel by approximately 9:30–10:00 AM. Total time is 16–18 hours.
Do I need to book in advance?
