The bucket-list experience

Everything the Evening Safari Gives You β€” Plus the Night.

The overnight desert safari Dubai is an extension of our evening desert safari β€” and then some. You get the full 6-hour evening programme: sunset dune bashing across the Al Faaqr red dunes, a camel ride, belly dance and Tanoura show, henna painting, shisha, and an unlimited BBQ dinner at the Bedouin camp.

Then, as the other guests leave and the camp goes quiet, you stay. The camp lights dim. The desert sounds take over β€” shifting sands, distant wildlife, silence deeper than anything you’ll experience in Dubai city. And above you, the desert night sky: no light pollution, no city glow, just an extraordinary canopy of stars.

Sleeping bags and blankets are provided. There are toilet facilities at the camp. In the early morning, as the air turns cool and the horizon starts to glow, you’ll wake to the most spectacular sunrise photography Dubai has to offer. Breakfast is served at camp β€” tea, coffee, eggs and toast β€” before the 8:30 AM return to your hotel.

This experience requires a minimum of 6 people. It is an extension of the evening safari β€” contact us on WhatsApp to check availability and get a group quote.

“As the night approaches and the camp lights go off, you begin to experience something the Bedouin travellers of ancient Arabia lived for thousands of years. The hissing of shifting sands, the howl of the desert fox, the whistle of an eagle overhead β€” your imagination runs wild. And then, in the early hours, you raise your camera for the climax of it all: the desert sunrise.” β€” Red Dunes Dubai, on the overnight experience

After the evening guests leave

What the Desert Night Is Actually Like

Nothing prepares you fully for a night in the Arabian desert. Here’s what to expect.

🌌

The Sky You Won't Forget

The Al Faaqr desert is 45 minutes from Dubai city β€” far enough to have virtually no light pollution. On a clear night you’ll see the Milky Way with the naked eye and thousands of stars that simply don’t exist from a city hotel balcony. Bring a wide-angle lens if you have one.

πŸ”Š

The Sounds of the Desert

Wind moving the sand has a distinctive hiss. Desert foxes call in the distance. The silence between sounds is deeper than anything in city life. It takes time to adjust β€” then it becomes one of the most peaceful environments imaginable.

πŸ“Έ

Sunrise Photography

This is the single most-cited reason guests choose the overnight safari over the evening-only option. As the sky lightens, the dunes transition from deep blue-grey to orange and red. A tripod and long exposure setting will produce extraordinary results. Set your alarm for 30 minutes before sunrise.

Before you go

What to Pack

πŸ‘• Light clothing for the evening + warm base layer for sleeping. October–April nights are genuinely cold.

πŸ’Š Motion sickness tablets if prone β€” take 1 hour before pickup for the dune bashing portion.

Overnight Safari Dubai FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking your overnight desert safari with Red Dunes Dubai.

What is included in the overnight desert safari?

The overnight safari includes hotel pickup and drop-off, dune bashing, a sunset photography stop, camel ride, henna painting, Arabic coffee and dates, shisha, traditional costume photos, belly dance and Tanoura show, unlimited BBQ dinner buffet (vegetarian options available), soft drinks and water throughout, overnight stay at the Bedouin camp with sleeping bags and blankets, and breakfast the next morning (tea/coffee, toast, egg and juice) before the 8:30 AM return. The overnight safari is priced per group β€” contact us on WhatsApp at +971 551 532 550 with your group size and dates and we’ll give you a full quote. The minimum group size is 6 people. The overnight safari is an extension of the evening safari β€” as a guide, market rates for quality overnight safaris in Dubai typically start from AED 350–400 per adult.

A minimum of 6 people is required for the overnight safari. If your group is smaller, contact us on WhatsApp and we’ll discuss available options β€” we may be able to join you with a compatible shared group on certain dates, or arrange a private overnight option.

The camp is a traditional Bedouin-style desert camp β€” comfortable but rustic. Sleeping bags and blankets are provided. There are toilet facilities at the camp. There is no power supply, so charge all devices before you leave your hotel. There is no running water for showers. Pack basic toiletries and a small torch. The experience is authentic desert camping, not a glamping resort.

October to April desert nights in Dubai typically drop to 10–18Β°C β€” colder than most visitors expect. Sleeping bags and blankets are provided, but a warm base layer (long-sleeved top, light fleece) is strongly recommended. May to September nights stay warm at 25–32Β°C and sleeping bags are largely unnecessary, though the daytime heat makes summer overnight safaris less comfortable overall.

Breakfast is served from around 7:00 AM and the convoy departs the camp at 8:30 AM, arriving back at your hotel by approximately 9:30–10:00 AM. Total time is 16–18 hours.

Yes β€” advance booking is essential for the overnight safari. Unlike the evening safari which runs nightly, overnight safari availability is limited and sells out quickly during peak season (October to April). Book as early as possible via WhatsApp at +971 551 532 550 to secure your preferred date.
